The area of focus for the 2015 Mathematics & Physics Working Group was the interface of student understanding of linear algebra and its application in physics courses, such as Quantum Mechanics. This working group brought together researchers in Undergraduate Mathematics Education and Physics Education to analyze data, compare methods for analysis, and highlight areas of interest or focus from within the data on student thinking. This focus was intended to foster discussions and possible collaborations about research at the interface of RUME and PER, in linear algebra and beyond, broadly conceived.
